In May 2014, Tulane learned about a new local hotel program that would generate revenue, expand reporting and document the volume necessary to bring down nightly rates for non- university funded guests. The idea sounded too good to be true but the reality was that by adding professional travel agency technology to the reservation process, thousands of parents, alumni and prospective students lodging expenses could be documented in a way that made the collection of commissions possible. The purpose of this session is to explain how, without cost, risk or additional staff workload, any campus in this room can accomplish what we did and in a way that does not interfere with their contracted TMC and/or business travel initiative.Hiding in plain sight, unclaimed visitor revenue
